Cool Off with Ice Cream and the Lafayette Band

The band will perform a free outdoor concert on July 10, at 7 p.m. at St. John the Divine in Saunderstown.

The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown will perform a free outdoor concert on Wednesday, July 10, at 7 p.m. at St. John the Divine on Church Way and Willett Rd., Saunderstown. A complimentary ice cream social will follow the concert.

The band will play patriotic and popular music, show tunes, marches and more, conducted by Music Director Charles Johnson. Admission is free for all Lafayette Band concerts. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating.

There is no rain date, but in the case of rainy weather, updates will be provided on www.lafayettebandri.org, and the band's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/LafayetteBand.RI.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 140 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
