RHODE ISLAND — This November, Patch is celebrating "30 Days of Gratitude," stories about living with gratitude — in simple terms, a deliberate choice to see the goodness and joy in your life and to wish the same for your neighbors.

Living with gratitude is a matter of continually counting one's blessings while at the same time recognizing that the source of goodness in one's life is other people.

Earlier this month, we asked Rhode Islanders to share who or what they were grateful for. Here's what your neighbors had to say.

I have gratitude to my incredible mailman "Claude" ! This man is the sweetest and kindest person. Every day he delivers not only mail but kindness. He recognizes everyone and truly cares about everyone even when he has so much to do. Not only does he treat the packages with care but everyone on his route everyday too. With all we have had these last few years this man has my gratitude for caring so much.

I would like to thank the Englehart’s for putting up a mirror on the telephone pole for safety reasons, as I live on a blind corner. It has been a big help and is appreciated. Also, Mr. Englehart cleared a tree from my driveway. He noticed it after the storm and just took it upon himself to be a good neighbor.

South Kingstown law enforcement agencies: Thank you for continuing to do your job protecting the community in spite of the adversity! The current events in today’s climate have placed our law enforcement agencies in a compromising position! In one hand they must continue to serve and protect the community honoring the oath they chose to uphold! On the other hand they face unfair judgments from the public! I say unfair because people tend to generalize and perceive their thought processes in those terms! That is the furthest from the truth in, frankly most situations especially in this one! Most law enforcement officers are truly committed, kind, compassionate people that choose a career in law enforcement to make a positive difference in their communities! And for that I am grateful and I applaud them here in my community and across the world!!!
