Johnston Man Charged In Scituate Stabbing

SCITUATE, RI — A Johnston man is accused of stabbing his girlfriend’s father in Scituate and fleeing with his girlfriend before being apprehended by police in Cranston.

Timothy Isom Jr., 19, is in custody after police say he stabbed a 49-year-old man and took off in a car with the victim’s 18-year-old daughter.

Shortly after noon on Wednesday, Scituate police received a 911 call about a stabbing at a home on Rolling Green Drive. Police learned that the suspect and his girlfriend had fled in a car. A Scituate officer saw the suspect vehicle fleeing at a high rate of speed but could not stop it. Police and rescue treated the victim’s non-life-threatening injuries on scene, Scituate police said in a news release.

The victim told police that his daughters had been arguing with each other, and that Isom got involved before stabbing the man in the abdomen and shoulder.

Rhode Island State Police, Cranston police, and West Warwick police helped track the vehicle, which was eventually found in Cranston.

The unoccupied Nissan Maxima was found on Waldron Street at around 1 p.m., and Isom and his girlfriend were found walking nearby, Cranston Police Chief Michael J. Winquist told Patch. Both were taken into custody without incident and transported to Scituate police for processing.

Isom was charged with two counts of felony assault, one count domestic assault, and six misdemeanors. Isom was arraigned at Third District Court on Wednesday and held at the ACI as a bail violator. Court records show that Isom is the subject of a previous domestic violence charge.
