West Warwick Traffic Stop Yields NY Drug Fugitive
Rhode Island State Police stopped an East Providence man and learned that he was wanted out of the State of New York.
WEST WARWICK , RI — Rhode Island state troopers made an Interstate 95 traffic stop in West Warwick Thursday evening and arrested an East Providence man wanted out of the State of New York for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

Scott Gomes, 26, of 153 Deer St. in the Rumford area now faces an additional charge of being a fugitive from justice. Gomes was booked at the Hope Valley Barracks and transported to the Adult Correctional Facility pending arraignment in Third District Court.

Gomes was pulled over at around 8:30 p.m. and additionally issued a citation for following too closely on the highway, traffic tribunal records show.
