Smyrna Planning Commission OKs Church's Chicken, Steak 'n Shake

SMYRNA, TN — Smyrna's Planning Commission approved plans for two new restaurants at the Smyrna Commons shopping center, the Daily News Journal reports.

Site plans for Church's Chicken and Steak 'n Shake got thumbs up from the commission with little discussion at its January 5 meeting. Smyrna Commons is a multi-use project across Nissan Drive from the auto plant.

Church’s Chicken will be located in an 1,850 square-foot building on 0.85 acres at 931 Sgt. Asbury Hawn Way. While the 2,450 square foot Steak 'n Shake is planned for the 1.2-acre lot at 951 Sgt. Asbury Hawn Way, according to the DNJ.

Smyrna Commons is also home to a campus of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology. Plans for a Checker's, Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins have also been approved for the site, according to the newspaper.
