Belmont University Dining Team Impresses at TAA Bravo Banquet

Belmont University hosted the Tennessee Arts Academy (TAA) Awards Banquet and Performance at the Curb Center, where 520 guests experienced an evening of culinary and service excellence. Held on Wednesday, July 17th, the event was a remarkable showcase of teamwork and precision, featuring the collaborative efforts of Belmont University Dining by Sodexo, including the catering team, chefs, and Sodexo managers.

Designed to honor and reward the hard work and artistic talents of all Academy participants, this event was offered free of charge to each attendee. Upon entering the venue, participants were welcomed with a red carpet setting and a professional photographer, allowing them to capture moments with friends and colleagues. The banquet featured an elegant full-course meal, accompanied by dinner music that enlivened the early part of the evening.

Guests enjoyed preset iced tea, water, salads once they found their seats. After the speeches concluded, the team swiftly cleared the tables and served plated entrees within an impressive 20-minute window. The standout dish of the evening was the chef’s custom dusted coffee rub steak, which received high praise from attendees. The dessert, a visually stunning flourless chocolate torte, also left a lasting impression.

The event's success was a testament to the dedication and coordination of the culinary team, including Executive Chef Adam, Dina, Grant, and Will Marie. The catering team, led by Director Amber, alongside Jay and Scott, played a crucial role in delivering an outstanding dining experience.

In a testament to the evening's impact, many long-time attendees declared it the best event they had experienced in the 30 years of Belmont's tradition. Jay Singh, Catering Manager at Belmont Dining by Sodexo, remarked, "Catering a prestigious event like that is always fun, but doing it for such a wonderful group of people makes it so much more meaningful and enjoyable."
