Feral Hogs in Clear Lake

Clear Lake, TX -- Residents of the Northfork subdivision in Clear Lake are reporting an invasion of feral hogs. The nuisance animals are known to damage lawns as they dig for acorns and eat grass down to the root.

Although the animals have been in the area for sometime, their renewed activity comes because of pressure on their habitat brought about by increased development. Hogs are notorious for having a disproportionate impact on their surroundings.

Unlike alligators, hogs are not considered a dangerous animal so it is not local government's responsibility to capture them. This leaves the job of relocating the hogs up to the homeowners
