Rock-throwing incidents have grown in recent months, spiking frustration amongst residents. In one of the most recognized cases, Austin musician Kenneth Jones suffered extreme injuries when someone threw a rock at his SUV. His car was left mangled, and Jones is just now beginning to be able to tap his fingers to music played at a benefit concert to pay for his injuries.

Austin police have asked people not to wait until arriving at their destination to contact police. Call 911 immediately so officers can respond, and do not handle any evidence so it can be processed by APD.
