Eatery Deemed Among World's Most Beautiful Interiors

Gardner was architects' first restaurant design.

EAST AUSTIN, TX -- A recently opened, high-end restaurant has been deemed as one of the world’s most beautiful interior spaces, according to an architectural magazine.

Gardner, an eatery that features locally grown vegetables along with meat and game located at 1914 E. 6th Street, was lauded by Architectural Record magazine. Its interior spaces was designed by Baldridge Architects located in downtown Austin.

According to the Austin Business Journal, Gardner joined the ranks in receiving the honor with much larger projects in New York, San Francisco, Washington, Milan and Essen, Germany. Austin-based Baldridge Architects is the firm behind the design of the new restaurant.

In praising the restaurant’s interior, Architectural Record lauded its “...purposefully subdued interiors scheme.” The restaurant is located at a site that once housed a post office.

The architectural firm’s principal, R. Burton Baldridge, told the business journal that the honor came as a complete surprise, particularly since it was the firm’s first restaurant project.
