Irving Lowe's Store Among The 51 In U.S., Canada To Close

IRVING, TX -- Among the 51 Lowe's stores in Canada and the U.S. closing, the business at 3500 W Airport Fwy in Irving is one of them. The business is considered an underperforming store, Lowe's stated in a news release. Most of the employees at the 20 U.S. stores slotted for closure will be offered roles at other nearby stories. The majority of the stores pegged for closure are located within 10 miles of another Lowe’s store, the company stated.

The stores are expected to close by Feb. 1, 2019.

“While decisions that impact our associates are never easy, the store closures are a necessary step in our strategic reassessment as we focus on building a stronger business,” Marvin R. Ellison, Lowe’s president and CEO, said int he news release. “We believe our people are the foundation of our business and essential to our future growth, and we are making every effort to transition impacted associates to nearby Lowe’s stores.”
