Human Remains Lead To Arrest Of Two Suspects

Police say a drug deal gone wrong led to the death of 20-year-old Jedediah Humphreys.

HOUSTON, TX — The stench of the rotting corpse attracted the attention of a passerby, an 18-year-old student walking home from school. Police were called, and found the body on March 23 at 12100 Murr Way. On Monday, nearly four months later, two men were charged with capital murder in relation to the case.

Manuel Antonio Rivas, 21, and Isaiah Nearly, 20, were in custody in the Harris County Jail on unrelated charges when they were charged in the murder of Jedediah Humphreys. Police officials said that the trio were involved in a drug deal, and that the victim was shot in the suspects' car. They then dumped his body on Murr Way.
