Next Step Pregnancy Services was started in 1998 in Seattle, WA. Originally named Angelorum Pregnancy Services, it was started by two Catholic women for the purpose of creating a place for women facing unplanned pregnancies to receive assistance, support, and encouragement for the growing life within. Through multiple moves, staff changes, and expanded services, Next Step Pregnancy Services has remained true to its mission of compassion and Christ-Centered care for women, babies, and their families.

The current Board of Directors is comprised of seven volunteers as well as a volunteer medical director and a volunteer spiritual advisor. We have seven women and three men. The board also makes up our advisory committee among other community members – such as legal counsel, financial advisor, and building and property advisor.

Next Step serves the community with no restrictions. There is no required paperwork for income, zip code, or insurance. All are welcome. Our clients are very diverse. According to 2022’s clients served 43% were Hispanic. At least 20%-30% are under age 24 and 70%of our clients are receiving at least some sort of government assistance and are considered low-income.

Next Step Pregnancy Services provides the following services; pregnancy testing, early diagnostic ultrasounds, prenatal care, post-reproductive loss grief care, insurance assistance, community resource referrals, material goods such as diapers, wipes, formula, clothes, coats, books, toys, blankets, layettes and maternity.

In 2023 Next Step will also begin offering STI testing and treatment. All medical services are performed by licensed medical personnel and under the supervision of a medical provider.

All services and supplies are free of charge.
