Here are the top three stories today in Salt Lake City:

  1. If you are looking for a new brewery where you can bring your dog, look no further than Shades Brewery. Located in Salt Lake City, this award-winning brewery not only holds a wide selection of beers and seltzers but it also includes a very popular dog-friendly patio for your furry friends to enjoy while you enjoy a drink. Pictures of the brewery can be found at the link. (Only In Your State)
  2. An investigation is currently underway for a Salt Lake City treatment center after a parolee died from a suspected overdose. Michael Campbell passed away Sunday evening while being transported from Fortitude Treatment Center to a local hospital after he was found unresponsive in the facility. Officials administered first aid as they awaited for first responders but were unable to save Campbell. The treatment center was placed on lockdown following the incident, which remains under investigation as of the time of publication. (KJZZ 14)
  3. A rock band that was touring the country is thankful to be alive today after the crew got in a serious accident following their Salt Lake City stop. After Year of the Knife performed at The Urban Lounge on Jun. 27, they packed their equipment up to head to Colorado Springs for their next stop; the group's van then collided with a semi truck. One member luckily got out of the accident with just a concussion, the two brothers suffered from broken bones, and one with a ruptured carotid artery; lead vocalist Madi Watkins suffered from more serious injuries and had to be placed in a medically induced coma. She is more responsive now and slowly getting better but while she is recovering and receiving treatment, both she and her husband, guitarist Brandon Watkins, will be calling Salt Lake their home. You can donate to the band for replacement equipment and medical expenses here. (FOX 13 News Utah)
