Here are the top three stories in Burlington today:

  1. The 10-day 2022 Burlington Discover Jazz Festival kicks off Friday. The festival is meant to be a family-friendly educational and exciting musical experience. Seven Days has created a list of the seven must-see shows of this year's festival that spans Burlington. (Seven Days VT)
  2. The Burlington Police Department has charged a suspect in connection with the City Hall Park shooting. Burlington's Jacob Cook, 28, has been charged with reckless endangerment and possession of cocaine in the incident that occurred last month. This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the department. (MyNBC5)
  3. The University of Vermont is offering free courses for Burlington residents. The courses are being provided through $1 million in state funding that the university was awarded. This is the second year that the free course program is being offered. Over 450 students registered last year and the university reportedly saw good results. (WCAX)
