Here are the top three stories today in Burlington:

  1. Burlington Electric has proposed another rake hike. This is the second proposed rate hike in two years. The proposed 3.9 percent rate hike would increase the average bill by about $3.10 per month. The hike is reportedly needed to allow Burlington Electric to keep up with inflation. (WCAX)

  3. A portion of Interstate 89 was closed due to a culvert collapse. Both lanes between Exit 10 and Exit 11 were closed after a covert inspection and geotechnical investigation revealed a section of the culvert in the southbound lane had collapsed. The closure should be lifted by 6:00 a.m. this morning. (WCAX)
