Vermont Ovarian Cancer Survivors Wanted for Teal Woman Program

Clearity Foundation Seeks to Recognize Teal Women from All 50 States including Vermont

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in the United States.

Ovarian cancer is a type of cancer that first forms in the ovaries and may spread. Studies show that more than 21,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2021. Nearly 14,000 women will die from the disease in the same year. Like all cancers, the ripple effects of ovarian cancer extend beyond the people who receive the diagnosis. It affects their family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors.

Clearity is committed to helping all women live well through ovarian cancer offering free programs and services like Treatment Decision Support and Steps Through OC counseling program. As a national organization, Clearity provides support to women throughout the country including Vermont.

To recognize Ovarian Cancer patients, survivors and memorial tributes, Clearity has formed a Who's Your Teal Woman? program. Clearity likes to honor at least one woman from every state, to raise awareness of this often-overlooked disease nationwide.

What Makes a Teal Woman?

A Teal Woman is every woman who has faced ovarian cancer. Survivors, women undergoing treatment, women in recurrence, women we have lostβ€”all are Teal Women. Clearity wants to celebrate, honor and pay tribute to Teal Women everywhere throughout September, in recognition of National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. All Teal Women will be recognized at Clearity's Teal Woman Celebration webcast on September 19, 2021 featuring Olympic champion and ovarian cancer survivor Shannon Miller.
