VT McDonald's Closes After Employee Throws Bullets On Grill: Report

The South Burlington restaurant was evacuated after police were called Sunday.

SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT β€” A McDonald's restaurant in Vermont was forced to close last weekend after police say an employee threw live ammunition on a hot grill, causing several rounds to explode, according to a report citing police.

The incident happened just after 5 p.m. Sunday at a McDonald's in South Burlington, WCAX reported. Police told the station the employee also had a handgun.

Police evacuated the restaurant and eventually persuaded the employee to surrender, according to WCAX. The employee was taken to the hospital for observation.
