Mark your calendars! The George Mason Friends Fall Book Sale is just around the corner. The Friends will host the book sale at George Mason Regional Library, 7001 Little River Turnpike, Annandale. 
A Preview sale, $20 per person, will be held on Wednesday evening, September 25, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. 
The General, free, semi-annual, 4-day sale will run from Thursday, September 26 thru Sunday, September 29, from 10:00 am – 5:30 pm daily.
A great selection of high-quality books, CDs, and DVDs in various categories for all ages and interests will be available. Come early for the best selection, then back on Sunday for half-price bargains. Visit our website at georgemasonfriends.blogspot.com.
Proceeds support the Fairfax County Public Library Summer Reading Program, Library Foundation Scholarships, Fall for the Book Festival, and library programs and equipment for the George Mason Regional Library.

Haven is a nonprofit, nonsectarian community organization of trained volunteers that offers emotional support to the bereaved, the seriously ill, the dying and to their families and friends. Haven also provides education to the community about the needs of those who are grieving.
Since September 1976 Haven volunteers have helped individuals work through their grief, offering comfort and support by sharing insights, resources and techniques that encourage recovery and healing. Support is conducted by trained volunteers, not therapists. This group is intended for those who have lost a loved one via suicide. Group meets the 2nd Saturday of each month. No cost to attend. Have you recently become an empty nester? Every wonder about the Jewish take on end-of-life care? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this workshop series could be right up your alley!
Aging Your Way is a multi-session program designed to help seniors (and their adult children) create a roadmap for the future. Through three workshops featuring a variety of professional experts on relevant topics, and an accompanying workbook, participants will be well-informed and able to answer key questions to better navigate their individual wants, needs, and circumstances. In a group of people dealing with the same questions, but possibly finding different solutions, we will learn, discuss, and build community.
Session 1 (Sept 10) will include an Overview of Aging Well, Housing Options (Aging in Place versus Senior Living Communities) and Transportation Resources.
Session 2 (Sept 17) will address the Legal and Financial Matters for aging well with an Estate Lawyer and a Financial Planner.
Session 3 (Sept 24) will showcase End-of-Life Matters with a Social Worker, Rabbi, and Jewish Funerals Northern Virginia Representative followed by a Resource Fair.
Be an active participant in your healthy aging. If you are ready to plan for your next stage of life, then register now!
