Drug, Weapons Charges Filed Following Fight In Aston Heights: Police

ARLINGTON, VA — A 36-year-old Arlington man is facing multiple drug and weapons charges in connection with a fight in the Ashton Heights area on Tuesday night, according to Arlington County Police.

An officer responded around 10:11 p.m. for the report of a fight in the 3800 block of 7th Street N. Arriving on the scene, the officer noticed a group of men and women congregating outside a residential building. When the officer announced himself, one the men fled the scene on foot, according to police.

As the officer chased the man, he saw the suspect discard a firearm, which the officer recovered, according to police. Additional officers arriving on the scene took the suspect into custody near N. Piedmont Street and 6th Street N. No injuries were reported. Police recovered suspected narcotics during the investigation.

ACPD arrested Brandon Carter-El Miller of Arlington, charging him with reckless handling of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance and possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics.
