2 Alexandria Men Arrested For Breaking Into Vehicles: Police

ARLINGTON, VA — Two Alexandria men were arrested early Saturday morning for breaking into vehicles parked in the Fort Radner area, according to Arlington County Police.

Officers responded around 2:58 a.m. to a parking lot in the 1500 block of Arlington Boulevard for the report of vehicles being broken into. When the police arrived, the suspects ran off. A search began of the surrounding area and officers found the two suspects hiding nearby and took them into custody, according to police.

During the arrest, officers found an unserialized 9mm “ghost” gun loaded with nine rounds of ammunition, a window punch device, and a claw hammer in the possession of the two suspects, according to police.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the two suspects broke into three vehicles and tried to steal one of them by tampering with the ignition, according to ACPD.

Police arrested 19-year-old Noel Sanchez and 18-year-old Nixon Menjivar, both of Alexandria. Sanchez was charged with attempted grand larceny of a vehicle, possession of burglarious tools, tampering with a vehicle, and conspiracy to commit larceny.Menjivar was charged with attempted grand larceny of a vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of burglarious tools, tampering with a wehicle, and conspiracy to commit larceny, according to ACPD.
