FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Fairfax City residents will soon have a new place to enjoy authentic Korean BBQ.

Chosun Hwaro Korean BBQ Restaurant is hoping to open its new location in the empty retail space in the Boulevard VI development within a month, a company spokesman told Patch on Monday.

The Fairfax Boulevard location will be the second restaurant in the franchise opened in the DMV by Sun Kim and Sung Kim, the founding partners behind the original Chosun Hwaro Kitchen BBQ Restaurant in Ellicott City, Maryland.

"Chosun Hwaro Korean BBQ Restaurant embraces the essence of authentic Korean BBQ," according to the company's website. "Drawing inspiration from the timeless tradition of grilling meat, we offer an immersive experience where friends and families can gather, grill, and savor the vibrant flavors of our carefully curated menu. With our table-top gas grills, you can enjoy the interactive thrill of grilling your favorite cuts of meat right at your table."

Developed by IDI on the former site of Paul VI High School, the Boulevard VI mixed-use community includes 137 residential condominium units, as well as 20,000 square feet of commercial/retail space and 24,000 square feet of community/office space/retail.

The Learning Experience, which will offer childcare and early childhood education, is also slated to open soon at Boulevard VI. Information about enrollment is available on the company's website.
