FAIRFAX CITY, VA — The City of Fairfax Theatre Company took home two awards Sunday night at the 2023 Washington Area Theatre Community Honors Awards ceremony at the The Birchmere in Alexandria.

Both of the company's awards were presented for its production of "True West."

Outstanding Properties in a Play – Luke Rahman – "True West"
Outstanding Stage Combat Choreography – Casey Kaleba – "True West"

When the nominations for 2023 WATCH Awards were announced in January, The City of Fairfax Theatre Company's productions of "Shrek the Musical" and "True West" combined for a total of seven. The Providence Players of Fairfax received six nominations in total for its productions of "Enchanted April," "November" and "Playing Juliet and Casting Othello."

Reston Community Players was the big winner racking up a combined total of 13 awards for its productions of "A Little Night Music," "The Game's A Foot" and "Bright Star." The company with the next highest number of awards was The Arlington Players, which brought home six awards.
