Fairfax Fall Festival 2016: Parking, Event Schedule, More

The annual event is set for Saturday in Old Town Square, and will feature rides, food, beer gardens and live music.

FAIRFAX, VA — Amusement rides, a wide variety of crafts, food, beer gardens and more — topped off with a concert — is on tap Saturday in Old Town Square.

It's the 40th annual Fairfax Fall Festival, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., after which the Vigilantes will perform from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Admission is free but rides and some children's activities aren't.

Among attractions for kids is music, magic, animal shows and puppet shows. Bringing pets is strongly discouraged.

Parking? Best advice is to take a free shuttle from Fairfax High School (3501 Rebel Run) or George Mason University (4400 University Drive). Service will be provided from 9:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.

Handicapped parking will be available in the Old Town Village parking garage (University Drive and Chain Bridge Road) and at City Hall (10455 Armstrong Street, accessible via Chain Bridge Road). Bicycle parking will be available at City Hall.

Road closures: Main Street will be closed between West Street and East Street; traffic will be detoured to North Street. University Drive will be closed from North to Armstrong Street; traffic will be detoured to Chain Bridge Road via North Street.
