Fairfax Ranks High on Top 100 Best Places To Live

Livability.com has ranked the top 100 best places to live nationally, and gives high marks to the City of Fairfax for a variety of reasons.

FAIRFAX, VA — Fairfax is described as a unique blend of old with new for its No. 27 slot on Livability.com's national list of the Top 100 Best Places to Live. The website calls Fairfax a place with a strong economy and an upscale quality of life where the median income for families is more than $100,000.

The average home price is $470,300, and George Mason University is prominently mentioned. The website also points to "a redeveloped and reenergized Old Town Fairfax downtown district that features six buildings on the National Register of Historic Places."
