Fran's Cakes And Candy Supplies A Sweet Fairfax Business For 40 Years

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Founded nearly 40 years ago by Fran Wheat, Fran's Cake and Candy Supplies is something of an institution in the City of Fairfax.

Located at 10927 Main St., Fran's is a full-scale cake and candy supply store and the go-to place for chefs, bakers, and novices to purchase all the quality products they need.

"Being in Fairfax has been an incredible blessing," said Debbi Stone-Wulf, the store's third and current owner. "The community here is like no other. We love seeing friendly faces come through our doors every day."

While many businesses were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Stone-Wulf said that was not the case with that Fran's, although they do occasionally have trouble finding certain items.

Edible images and cake toppers remain the store's most popular products in the store. But Fran's isn't just a retail outlet, it also offers classes and tutorials for those wishing to pick up a new skill or create something special.

"Our favorite memories are seeing all the smiles and amazing cakes that are made by our customers," Stone-Wulf said. "We encourage all of our customers to send us images of their finished cakes."
