In 2017, corporate and individual donations allowed Volunteer Fairfax to mobilize more than 500 volunteers at 42 VolunteerFest sites, generating nearly 1,300 hours of service time.

Volunteer Fairfax’s offerings include Volunteers For Change, a program that makes volunteering accessible and fun for busy adults, Alternative Community Service, a program that places a range of court-ordered clients in community service positions and RSVP Northern Virginia, a program Volunteer Fairfax co-sponsors with Volunteer Arlington and Volunteer Alexandria, that matches those 55 and better with meaningful and fun volunteer opportunities.

Volunteer Fairfax also offers a wide array of training programs that help nonprofits and volunteer groups run more efficiently.

VolunteerFest is one of Volunteer Fairfax’s three annual signature events that also include Give Together: A Family Volunteer Day on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a large family-friendly event where children of all ages engage in volunteering and the Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards, a breakfast held each April to honor volunteers who have given outstanding service to the community.
