FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Many services, agencies and government offices in and around Fairfax City will be closed on Monday for Memorial Day.

Some services around Fairfax City are closed or modified for the federal holiday on Monday, May 27. Below are the changes to know.

Fairfax City government offices: Closed on May 27.

Fairfax County government offices: Closed on May 27.

Schools: Fairfax County Public Schools will be closed May 27.

Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center: Open on May 27.

Courts: The Fairfax County Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court will be closed May 27.

Department of Motor Vehicles: All DMV customer service centers in Northern Virginia will be closed May 27.7.

Cue Bus: Operates on a Saturday schedule on May 2

Fairfax Connector: Fairfax Connector will operate Sunday service on May 27. Routes running on Sunday are: 101, 109, 151, 152, 161, 162, 171, 310, 321, 322, 371, 401, 402, 423, 463, 467, 558, 574, 605, 615, 630, 640, 650, 721, 803, 901, 921, 924, 937, 950, 952, 954, 983, RIBS 1, RIBS 2, RIBS 3, RIBS 4 and RIBS 5. If a route is not listed above, it does not operate Sunday service. Others will not operate on May 27. See more information on Fairfax Connector's website.

Libraries: On May 27, Fairfax City Regional Library and all Fairfax County Public Library locations will be closed.

Metrorail will open at 7 a.m. and close at midnight, providing normal Sunday service on all lines. Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule. MetroAccess customers may make a reservation to travel on the holiday; however, subscription trips will be canceled. More weekend Metrorail information here.

Office of Elections: Early voting sites are closed on May 27.

Post offices: Closed on May 27.

Rec centers: Most Fairfax County Recreation Centers are open, but the Colvin Run Mill and Sully Historic Sites are closed on May 27

Trash and recycling: For county collection customers, regular trash and recycling collection will happen on May 27.

Trash and recycling: For Fairfax City customers, Monday and Tuesday refuse and recycling routes are collected on Tuesday, May 28.

Trash and recycling centers: The Recycling and Disposal Centers at the I-66 Transfer Station (4618 West Ox Road) and the I-95 Landfill Complex (9850 Furnace Road) are open regular hours on May 27.
