On the Road

As of 7:22 a.m., a new traffic pattern is in place on westbound I-66 before the Nutley Street exit due to the Virginia Department of Transportation's ongoing Transform I-66 Outside the Beltway project.

As of 7:16 a.m., the left lane of eastbound I-66 in Fairfax County about 2.5 miles east of VA-123 is closed due to a disabled truck.

As of 6:48 a.m., A vehicle was cleared on northbound I-495 about 0.2 miles south of I-66 in Fairfax County.

DC Weather

A flash flood watch will be in effect from 3 p.m. on Wednesday through late tonight, for D.C. and parts of suburban Virginia. Heavy rainfall my cause localized flooding in low-lying areas.

Multiple rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to pass through the region this afternoon and into tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms could develop as early as this afternoon and may continue into the evening. This could result in several inches of rain falling in a short period of time.

Virginia localities affected by the watch include Prince William County, Manassas, Manassas Park, Fairfax County, Arlington County, Falls Church, Loudoun County and the City of Alexandria.
