Here are five outstanding nonprofit groups you should know about in the Fredericksburg area:

• Fredericksburg SPCA
  • The Fredericksburg SPCA helps animals find homes. They also assist animals who need medical care through the Locke Community Medical Center.
• Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank
  • The Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank is working to end hunger in the region. They connect people in need with hundreds of community partners and food assistance program. In 2022, the food bank distributed more than 5 million pounds of food to those in need, according to their website.
• Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic
  • The Lloyd Moss Free Clinic seeks to provide free medical care to people who may not be able to afford it otherwise. The organization serves more than 1,000 patients on a yearly basis, including people who are uninsured, low-income, and from underserved communities.
• STEP VA
