Quilling is a very ancient art of paper filigree that involves using strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. During this workshop, you will learn a few basic shapes using a quilling tool, and make an ornament based on a design from the James Monroe Museum’s exhibits. $55 per person (supplies included) Ages 12+ up recommended. George Washington's Ferry Farm

Join us at Ferry Farm for a fun-filled morning learning about farm animals! We will have story time, learn about some animals that may have lived at Ferry Farm, and make an animal-themed craft to take home! Following the program, children and their caregivers are invited to take an abbreviated tour through the Washington House or explore the Ferry Farm grounds and gallery.
The Mini-Mornings program series introduces young learners (ages 3-6) to our museum spaces. Children and their caregivers participate in a story time and related craft or activity while exploring George Washington’s Ferry Farm or Historic Kenmore.
Free for children with adult admission. Note: all children participating in the activity also must be registered to ensure an accurate headcount. From 10:15-11:15am.

 THE ICONIC OSCAR MAYER WIENERMOBILE WILL STOP AT OLD DOMINION HUMANE SOCIETY FOR PUPPIES AND POPSICLES EVENT, AUGUST 16
 Fredericksburg, Va. (August 9, 2024)— The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will stop at Old&nbsp;Dominion Humane Society’s (ODHS) “Summer Series of Friday Nights” Puppies and Popsicles&nbsp;from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., August 16. The iconic car, which features a huge hot dog, will make a&nbsp;special stop at ODHS and add to the festivities. Families can take pictures with favorite rescue&nbsp;pups and the Wienermobile as a backdrop. The Weinermobile team will give out wiener whistles&nbsp;and stickers.
 The ”Summer Series of Friday Nights” runs through August and is centered around the rescue&nbsp;puppies. For “Puppies and Popsicles,” guests can try their favorite flavor refreshments from an&nbsp;ice cream truck that will be on hand. All puppies get popsicles so they can cool off, too.
Cost for the event is a donation of $10 per family or canned dog food. The event is at ODHS at&nbsp;3602 Lafayette Boulevard in Fredericksburg.
