Daily Coronavirus Cases Across Virginia Dip Under 4,000

State health officials announced 3,771 new cases on Monday after confirmed cases had topped more than 5,000 multiple times in recent days.

VIRGINIA — The Virginia Department of Health reported 3,771 new coronavirus cases on Monday, bringing the cumulative total in the state to 367,536 cases. The new cases represented a drop in cases since Sunday when state health officials announced more than 5,000 new cases for the third time in the previous four days.

No new deaths were reported by state health officials Monday. A total of 5,132 people have died from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic and 18,387 people have been hospitalized. Despite the drop in cases from Sunday, the seven-day average of daily cases is 4,313, and there are 668.2 cases per 100,000 people in the last 14 days. Statewide, the seven-day positive average of PCR tests is 15.8 percent.

Vaccination data is updated daily by the VDH. As of Monday, 89,326 vaccine doses have been administered in Virginia, Leading localities is Fairfax County with 10,913 doses administered. There have been 451,075 vaccine doses distributed in Virginia to date. No one has received the second dose, which both Pfizer and Moderna's vaccines require. Pfizer's doses should be taken 21 days apart, and Moderna's doses should be 28 days apart.

  • Alexandria: 7,538 cases, 442 hospitalizations, 88 deaths; increase of 51 cases and zero deaths.
  • Arlington County: 9,290 cases, 667 hospitalizations, 182 deaths; increase of 40 cases and a removal of one hospitalization. Removal of one death.
  • Fairfax County: 46,096 cases, 2,998 hospitalizations, 687 deaths; increase of 340 cases, 1 hospitalization and two news deaths.
  • Fairfax City: 311 cases, 26 hospitalizations, 10 deaths; increase of three cases.
  • Falls Church: 188 cases, 18 hospitalizations, six deaths; no changes.
  • Loudoun County: 14,569 cases, 654 hospitalizations, 161 deaths; increase of 51 cases.
  • Manassas: 2,991 cases, 147 hospitalizations, 29 deaths; increase of eight cases.
  • Manassas Park: 953 cases, 65 hospitalizations, eight deaths; no change.
  • Prince William County: 26,664 cases, 1,228 hospitalizations, 262 deaths; increase of 208 cases.
  • Fredericksburg: 1,077 cases, 67 hospitalizations, 11 deaths; increase of 13 cases.
  • Spotsylvania County: 5,001 cases, 213 hospitalizations, 68 deaths; increase of 47 cases and one hospitalization, one death.
  • Stafford County: 5,481 cases, 231 hospitalizations, 25 deaths; increase of 63 cases.
