For Dallas Seavey, it was a family affair - he beat his father Mitch to the finish line, according to the Free Lance-Star. Dallas also won the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race in 2012 and 2014, and Mitch Seavey won it in 2013 and 2004.

The younger Seavey and his dog team won this year’s race by a wide margin, and he’s taking home $70,000 and a new pickup truck. The Iditarod began March 9 in Fairbanks, deep in Alaska’s interior, but the ceremonial start took place in Anchorage, on the southern coast, where snow had to be trucked in for the event because of unusually warm weather.
