Next Chance for Snow Thursday Night

Another chance of snow has snuck up on us. This time, a period of accumulating snow is possible late Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The chances are better east of Interstate 95. Accumulation should be less than an inch for most of the area. >>> read more.

‘Petroleum-Based Substance’ Found in Potomac River

A 30-foot donut-shaped “noodle” type device is in place at Roach’s Run to contain some sort of spill that is being analyzed by the DC Department of Energy & Environment, spokeswoman Julia Christian said Thursday afternoon.

“There has been some kind of a discharge at Roach’s Run,” she said. It’s undetermined whether that spill is related to a “rainbow” sheen seen in a wider swath of the Potomac River in the past few days, she said. >>> read more.
