WOODLAWN, VA — A Mount Vernon woman has died from injuries she suffered in a July 3 car accident in Woodlawn, according to Fairfax County Police.

On July 3 around 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the 8600 block of Richmond Highway in Woodlawn for a two-vehicle crash. Investigators determined Donna Gulino, 80, of Mount Vernon was southbound on Richmond Highway and attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Lukens Lane in a 2011 Cadillac ATS.

The driver of a 2019 Mini Cooper was northbound on Richmond Highway when the vehicle struck the Cadillac in the intersection. Both drivers were taken to the hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening, police said.

On Tuesday, detectives were notified by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner that Gulino died from injuries she suffered in the crash.

Preliminarily, speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash, police said in a news release.
