Registration Now Open for the George Washington Patriot Run 5K/10K Race

Dash through history during the George Washington Patriot Run; road race enters historic property at George Washington's Mount Vernon.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Dash through history during the George Washington Patriot Run, a road race to enter the historic property at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. On Sunday, Sept. 10, the George Washington Patriot Run will host thousands of runners for its 5K and 10K races beginning at 8 a.m. This spectacular road race will take runners up the scenic George Washington Memorial Parkway.

Return down the Parkway and trace Washington’s footsteps through the historic area at Mount Vernon. Cross the finish line with the beautiful Mansion in view. Patriot Run participants can take a finisher photo with General Washington. Runners will receive a post-race drink ticket.

Registration for the George Washington Patriot Run is now open. To register, visit mountvernon.org/patriotrun. Race registration is $50 and includes admission to Mount Vernon, a race T-shirt, and a finisher medal. Note that all spectators looking to access the finish line on the grounds of Mount Vernon will be required to purchase a spectator ticket for a special discounted price of $10.

This ticket provides the spectator access to the grounds and activities at Mount Vernon. A special free children’s “Fun Run” will be held near the finish line (registration required). Parents of children (11 and under) running in the “Fun Run” must purchase spectator tickets.

Free bus transportation will be provided to all runners and their guests from a designated parking location starting at 5:30 a.m. Parking will not be permitted at Mount Vernon. The last bus will depart for the start line at 7 a.m. Return transportation to the satellite parking lot from Mount Vernon will be provided until 12 noon.
