Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS) will host a weeklong, fee-waived, pet adoption event from Saturday, August 17 through Sunday, August 25. 2024, in participation with the nationwide “Clear the Shelters” adoption initiative.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of NBCUniversal Local’s pet adoption project, which has helped more than 1 million pets find new homes. To celebrate, LCAS is expanding the adoption event to a full week; waiving adoption fees for all available pets, which includes cats, kittens, dogs, rabbits, small pets and livestock, August 17-25.
The regular LCAS adoption process still applies and most animals can go home same day. Check out available animals on the LCAS website then stop by the shelter. The adoption floor is open 11am-6pm, no appointments needed. Please plan to arrive by 5 if you would like to adopt same-day. New adoptions cannot be started after 5:30pm
