The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is currently conducting an investigation into fraudulent phone calls involving the impersonation of LPD detectives with the intention of soliciting money from victims. LPD emphasizes that they do not engage in such practices and will never call individuals to request money. If you have any information regarding this scam, please contact the LPD at (434) 455-6050.   3. Lynchburg police are continuing their search for the individuals responsible for the fatal shooting of a 6-year-old boy, Kingston Campbell, while he was playing video games in his bed. Despite video evidence showing multiple people shooting at the home, no arrests have been made. A community group, One Community One Voice, is collaborating with Crime Stoppers to raise funds for a reward that will be given to anyone providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Campbell's death.
