Construction Site Worker Killed In Alexandria Crash: Police

Alexandria Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a construction worker in the Landmark neighborhood Wednesday morning.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A construction worker died in a crash Wednesday morning in Alexandria, according to police.

Police responded around 7:32 a.m. to a construction site in the 5700 block of Duke Street, which is in the Landmark neighborhood where the Landmark Mall is being redeveloped. According to police, the construction worker was struck within the enclosed construction site.

The worker's identity has not been publicly released.

The police department's crash reconstruction unit is investigating the crash, along with the Alexandria Department of Code Administration, Transportation and Environmental Services, Department of Project Implementation and Virginia Department of Labor and Industry.
