ARLINGTON, VA — Every dog has its day. Today is that day.

Thursday is International Dog Day, and there is no shortage of dog lovers in Alexandria. In fact, the city ranked fifth in the 2021 Best Cities for Dog Lovers from LawnStarter this week. There are plenty of dog-friendly businesses in town, including Barkhaus, the region's first dog bar with a dog park.

To help celebrate International Dog Day, Patch asked readers in Alexandria share photos of their precious pups for our special dog-day photo gallery. If you'd like your dog to be included, send an email to [email protected].
