RESTON, VA — When Fouzia Shakoor and her husband claimed their $1 million Powerball prize, she told Virginia Lottery officials, “I feel happy. We have a lot of excitement!”

Shakoor's husband purchased their ticket for the Nov. 2 drawing at the 7-Eleven at 2303 Soapstone Drive in Reston. He used Easy Pick to randomly select their numbers.

This turned out to be a good move, since the couple's numbers matched the first five winning numbers in the drawing. If they'd also chosen the final Powerball number, they would've won the $1.2 billion jackpot.
