Armed Carjacking Reported In Vienna, Vehicle Recovered

Vienna Police say a driver was carjacked at gunpoint after the vehicle was rear-ended.

VIENNA, VA — An armed carjacking happened in Vienna Saturday, according to police.

Around 10:30 p.m., a resident reported being carjacked in the area of Park Street and Moore Avenue SE. The vehicle was initially rear-ended, leading the driver to leave the vehicle to speak to the striking driver.

The two occupants in the striking vehicle displayed a gun and demanded the driver hand over the car, according to Vienna Police. One suspect entered the victim's vehicle, and the second suspect got into the striking vehicle, described as a black Dodge Challenger. The victim’s cell phone was left in the vehicle.

When the incident was reported to police, lookouts for the stolen vehicle were sent to other jurisdictions. The vehicle was found abandoned in Baltimore.

No suspects were located in the incident. The Vienna Police Department is working with the DC Metropolitan and Baltimore Police Departments to identify the suspects involved.
