Dunn Loring House Fire On Balcony Causes No Injuries

Three residents were displaced after a Dunn Loring house fire caused by improperly discarded smoking materials.

DUNN LORING, VA — A house fire in Dunn Loring Saturday displaced three residents but caused no injuries, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

Around 6:02 p.m. Saturday, units from Fairfax County and Arlington responded to a three-story single-family home in the 2100 block of Tysons Executive Court. Smoke and fire were visible from the back of the house, and fire was spreading to the attic.

Firefighters were able to quickly control much of the fire and put it out. There were no reported injuries.

Three residents had been home when the fire occurred. Two residents who were cooking in the kitchen found the fire on a balcony, and another was alerted by a smoke alarm. All evacuated before the fire department arrival.

Fire investigators found the cause of the fire was improperly discarded smoking materials that spread to combustibles on the balcony. Damages were estimated to be $100,000.

The three displaced residents declined Red Cross assistance.
