Mailbox Contents Stolen, AirPods Stolen From Vehicle In Vienna

According to Vienna Police, a mailbox was pried open near the Vienna Post Office.

VIENNA, VA — Vienna Police have received reports of stolen mail from a mailbox and theft of AirPods from a vehicle in the latest weekly crime report.

The mail theft happened at the mailbox at the Vienna Post Office, 200 Lawyers Road NW. According to police, someone pried open the mailbox and stole the mail between 5 p.m. on Dec. 13 and 7 a.m. on Dec. 14. The theft was reported by a post office employee.

In related news, police were notified about package tamperings between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Dec. 11. According to police, mail carriers had found packages on Abbotsford Drive that had been delivered to Vienna addressed but opened and discarded by an unknown person.

A resident set up a date through an online service, paying with a gift card as the service requested. The date never showed up, and the resident began getting threatening messages demanding more money.

Between December 8 at 3:00 p.m. and December 9 at 7:00 a.m.
A resident reported that someone rummaged through his unlocked vehicle and stole his Apple AirPods.

1000 Block Lynn Street, SW December 15 3:45 p.m.
A resident reported that there were movers inside his home packing up his belongings. The resident noticed that U.S. currency was missing from his fireplace mantel and he began reviewing his security camera. The video showed one of the movers taking the currency. Ofc. Armstrong arrested the mover, a 19-year-old man from Murillo Court in Springfield, Virginia. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Petit Larceny.
