VIENNA, VA — Fairfax County Police have charged a McLean man for an alleged sexual assault during an acupuncture treatment at a Vienna area facility.

A female victim had reported the alleged assaults, which happened on July 14 and 18 at the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine, 1980 Gallows Road, Vienna. According to police, Dr. Chang Hee Kim, a licensed acupuncturist, unlawfully touched the victim's genital area during the treatments.

Detectives' investigation determined the incidents were beyond the scope of a medical examination after speaking with subject matter experts and conducting interviews. On Friday, detectives obtained warrants to charge Kim with two counts of aggravated sexual battery. Kim turned himself in Tuesday at the Fairfax County Adult Detection Center and was given a $2,000 secured bond.
