Rape Suspect At Tysons Hotel Identified, Arrested By Police

Fairfax County Police have identified a suspect in the alleged armed rape of a woman in Tysons.

TYSONS, VA — A suspect has been identified and arrested Tuesday after an alleged armed rape at a Tysons hotel on Oct. 1.

Police had responded to a report of a man who sexually assaulted a woman and displayed a gun in a hotel room in the 8600 block of Westwood Center Drive, Vienna. Police say the hotel room was unlocked when the man entered, physically and sexually assaulted the victim and fled.

The victim went to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Evidence was collected and sent to the Department of Forensic Services.

Community tips led police to identify and arrest the suspect, Patrick Craig Locke, 30, of Washington, D.C. Detectives obtained warrants for charges of rape, burglary with the intent to commit rape, abduction with the intent to defile and brandishing.

Detectives had received tips and worked to corroborate the information using body camera footage from Montgomery County, where Locke was previously arrested. The Metro Transit Police Department arrested Locke at the Metro Center station in D.C. Tuesday. A gun was not located upon his arrest.

Police had released surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the suspect. Before the alleged assault, the suspect had entered the Metro at the Eastern Market station, switched to the Silver Line at the Capitol South station and exited at the Spring Hill station. After the alleged assault, the suspect entered the Spring Hill station, switched to the Red Line at Metro Center and took the Red Line in the direction of Glenmont.

Locke was taken to the Central Detention Facility in D.C. and will be extradited to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
