Vienna House Fire Sends 2 To Hospital: Fire Department

A fire at a Vienna home Wednesday displaced two residents, who went to the hospital for check-ups.

VIENNA, VA — Two people went to the hospital during a house ire in Vienna Wednesday, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

Around 2:05 p.m., fire units responded to the 100 block of Casmar Street SE in the Town of Vienna. Units found smoke showing from the front door of the single-family home and quickly put out a fire in the kitchen.

The two residents were able to evacuate after being alerted by smoke alarms. The residents went to the hospital for check-ups. There were no firefighter injuries.

Fire investigators found the cause of the fire was an electrical event involving an outlet powering the range microwave.

The two residents were displaced but declined Red Cross assistance. Damages were estimated to be around $93,750.
