Variety Of Food Trucks Planned For Vienna's Chillin' On Church

VIENNA, VA — Get out your lawn chairs and meet your neighbors as the next Chillin' on Church block party in Vienna is planned Friday.

Chillin' on Church is held monthly from June to September and includes food, local beer and wine, music, and family-friendly entertainment. Sections of Church and Mill Streets are closed to vehicular traffic for the event. The next event will be Friday, Aug. 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. along historic Church Street.

Each event includes a variety of food trucks to please all kinds of cravings. The town also encourages Chillin' on Church attendees to order takeout from Vienna restaurants and bring it to the event.

The Aug. 18 food truck lineup includes: Ben and Jerry's (ice cream), Praiseworthy Popcorn (popcorn), Capitol Snow (shaved ice), Hsp inc DBA Halal Grill (halal chicken and gyro meals), Steakholders (cheesesteaks), Empanadas de Mendoza (empanadas), Pakos Fresh Mex (Mexican food), Phowheels (Vietnamese food), The Big Cheese (grilled cheese) and Urban Poutine (fry peddlers).

Attendees 21 and older can also buy craft and domestic beers or wine. To buy beer or wine, visit the ID tent and get a wristband, then buy a $6 ticket that can buy one beer or wine. ID is required for all attendees purchasing alcoholic drinks, and attendees are not allowed to bring their own beer and wine from home.

While enjoying food, drinks and conversation, attendees can watch a live performance by Ocho De Bastos. Summer concerts are part of Vienna's Summer on the Green on Fridays through August and during Chillin' on Church.

There are various public parking options around town for Chillin' on Church attendees. Handicap accessible parking is available at the Town Green/W&OD Trail parking area between Church Street NE and Maple Avenue E.

The last Chillin' on Church of the year will be on Sept. 15.
