73-Year-Old Hit By Gunfire At Woodbridge Apartment Building

Prince William County Police say a gunshot entered an apartment and struck a 73-year-old man.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Gunshots that struck an apartment building in Woodbridge injured a 73-year-old man Saturday, according to Prince William County Police.

The shooting happened around 1:38 p.m. Saturday at the Riverwoods Apartments in the 2700 block of Dettingen Place. Police say several gunshots struck the apartment building, and one entered an apartment. The gunshot grazed the 73-year-old man, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

There was no other injuries or property damage reported. A suspect has not been identified.

Rape Investigation: On March 8 at 4:49PM, officers responded to investigate a sexual
assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 12200 block of
Granada Way in Woodbridge (22192) earlier that day. The investigation revealed the victim,
a 27-year-old woman, was sexually assaulted by the accused with whom she had recently
met while at his residence in the above area. The victim eventually left the residence and
contacted the police. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Mohd Haroon
Hakimi, 33, of Woodbridge, was arrested and charged with rape. A court date is pending.
