Manassas Man Charged In Fatal Carjacking With Hit-And-Run In Montclair

A man from Manassas was arrested and charged in the hit-and-run that killed a victim with his own car.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Prince William County Police have arrested the suspect in a fatal carjacking with a hit-and-run that happened on July 20 in the Montclair neighborhood.

Keith McBride, 41, of Manassas, was arrested by Virginia Beach Police, Prince William County Police were informed on Friday. He was charged with felony murder, felony hit & run, and grand larceny auto.

The carjacking and hit-and-run happened around 6:53 p.m. on July 20 at the Oasis at Montclair Apartment complex in the 16400 block of Stedham Circle. Police say an unknown person approached the victim when he was outside his vehicle. When the suspect got into the vehicle and started to drive in reverse, the victim grabbed onto it as it struck an unoccupied vehicle. When the vehicle continued forward, the victim was thrown off and run over. The suspect left in the stolen SUV, a 1999 gold Lexus RX 300, before police arrived.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Two days later, police learned the victim had died. He was identified as Jose Vasquez Galvan, 37, of Dumfries.

Police do not believe the victim and suspect were acquainted.
