Help Assistance League Celebrate 20 Years Of Community Service

Support Children In Need With A Gift Of Clothing

Assistance League of Northern Virginia continues the ongoing celebration of its 20th year as a chapter of the National Assistance League organization. This anniversary is a wonderful opportunity to mark the nonprofit’s many years of service providing programs to improve the well-being of children in need. The celebration includes a featured wish list each month targeting a specific program area. We are very grateful to our many supporters who donated underwear and socks in January and books in February and made those campaigns so successful.

For March, our focus is on basic sweatpants and leggings for elementary school boys and girls. Children are always growing and families with limited resources are often unable to afford new clothes to replace ones that have been outgrown. Join the anniversary celebration by purchasing sweatpants and leggings to keep up with that growth. Remember that every act of giving, no matter how big or small, holds the power to shape a better world.

Bob Kovacs recently produced a brief video of Assistance League’s clothing program highlighting the variety of items provided to eight Title 1 schools it serves. The nonprofit has delivered more than 1000 clothing items this winter, including winter jackets, hats, gloves, sweat pants, long-sleeved shirts, underwear, and socks. Assistance League is very grateful for the video, which summarizes the importance of its clothing program, and to Bob for his expertise and dedication.
